சுற்றுச்சூழலியல் ஆர்வலர் முகிலன், சென்ற வருடம் தூத்துக்குடியில் ஸ்டெர்லைட் எதிர்ப்பு போராட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்ட பொதுமக்கள் 13 பேரை போலீஸ் துப்பாக்கிச் சூடு நடத்தி சுட்டு கொன்றது சம்பந்தமான ஆவன படமொன்றை சென்னை பத்திரிகையாளர் சந்திப்பில் பிப்ரவரி 15ந் தேதி வெளியிட்டார். அன்று இரவிலிருந்து அவர் காணாமல் போனார். 105 நாட்கள் ஆகியும் முகிலன் இருப்பிடம் பற்றி எந்த முன்னேற்றத்தையும் போலீஸ் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை. இந்த சூழலின் பின்னனியில் தான் ஏற்கனவே முகிலனை மீட்க கோரி பல போராட்டங்கள் நடத்திய காவிரி ஆறு பாதுகாப்பு இயக்கம் இன்று 1 ந் தேதி சென்னை வள்ளுவர் கோட்டத்தில் அரசுக்கு எதிராக மாபெரும் ஆர்பாட்டம் நடத்தியது. கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி மூத்த தலைவர் ஆர்.நல்லக்கண்ணு தலைமையில் பழ.நெடுமாறன், தி.மு.க. துணை பொதுச் செயலாளர் சுப்புலட்சுமிஜெகதீசன், மார்க்ஸ்சிஸ்ட் கே.பாலகிருஷ்ணன், சி.பி.ஐ. சி.மகேந்திரன், காங்கிரஸ் கோபன்னா, ம.தி.மு.க. மல்லை சத்யா, வி.சி.க. திருமாவளவன், த.வா.க.வேல்முருகன் உட்பட முப்பதுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட அமைப்புகள் இந்த ஆர்பாட்டத்தை நடத்தினர். என் கணவர் உயிருடன் இருக்கிறாரா? தமிழக அரசே பதில் சொல் என்ற கேள்வியுடன் முகிலன் மனைவி பூங்கொடியும் இதில் கலந்து கொண்டார்.
சமூக ஆர்வலர் முகிலனை கண்டுபிடித்து தரக்கோரி, காவிரி ஆறு பாதுகாப்பு இயக்கம் சார்பில் சென்னை வள்ளுவர் கோட்டம் அருகே நேற்று ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடைபெற்றது. ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்துக்கு இந்திய கம்யூனிஸ்டு கட்சி மூத்த தலைவர் ஆர்.நல்லக்கண்ணு தலைமை தாங்கினார். தமிழர் தேசிய முன்னணி தலைவர் பழ.நெடுமாறன் முன்னிலை வகித்தார். ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தின் போது ஆர்.நல்லக்கண்ணு நிருபர்களிடம் கூறியதாவது:- இயற்கை வளங்களுக்காக போராட்டம் நடத்திய முகிலனை காணாமல் போனதாக போலீசாரிடம் தெரிவித்து 105 நாட்கள் ஆகியுள்ளது. இந்தநிலையில் போலீசாரும், அரசும் இதுவரை முகிலனை கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை. மேலும் முகிலன் மீது வழக்குப்பதிவு செய்திருப்பதை வன்மையாக கண்டிக்கிறோம். முகிலனை கண்டுபிடிக்காவிட்டால் வருகின்ற 15-ந்தேதி அனைத்து மாவட்டங்களிலும் ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தில் ஈடுபடுவோம். மத்திய அரசு இந்தி திணிப்பு முயற்சியை மீண்டும் எடுக்கக் கூடாது. மாநில மொழியிலேயே கல்வியை தொடர வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார். இந்த ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தில் முகிலனின் மனைவி பூங்கொடி, மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்டு கட்சி அரசியல் தலைமைக்குழு உறுப்பினர் ஜி.ராமகிருஷ்ணன், விடுதலை சிறுத்தைகள் கட்சி தலைவர் தொல்.திருமாவளவன், தி.மு.க. சட்டத்துறை செயலாளர் ஆர்.கிரிராஜன், ம.தி.மு.க. துணை பொது செயலாளர் மல்லை சத்யா, தமிழக வாழ்வுரிமை கட்சித் தலைவர் தி.வேல்முருகன், தமிழ் பேரரசு கட்சி தலைவர் வ.கவுதமன், நடிகர் பொன் வண்ணன் உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
