A Division Bench of Justices S.Vimala and T. Krishnavalli of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday reserved for pronouncing
orders the case pertaining to the cause of rehabilitation of prisoners children in cases where one spouse killed the other. The court constituted a panel and appointed amicus curiae in the case to study and suggest measures for the rehabilitation of such children.

Prosecution says a record number of 148 witnesses were examined in five days

The Madras High Court on Monday granted the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) time till March 18 to trace the anti-Sterlite activist T. Mugilan alias Shanmugam. The time was granted at the instance of the prosecution which claimed to have examined 148 witnesses so far.

Mugilan went missing hours after a press meet in which he accused two senior police officers of playing an important role in the Thoothukudi open firing that took place on May 22.

Over two weeks since the anti-Sterlite activist Mugilan went missing, the Madras High Court has ordered the Crime Branch’s Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) police to file a status report.
