Indian rights defender for solidarity among common people

Indian human rights defender Henri Tiphagne on Tuesday called for solidarity among common people across the world for the establishment of the dignity of human rights defenders.
The founder and executive director of Madurai-based rights organisation People’s Watch made the call in an interview with New Age on the sideline of a workshop on the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Torture and Bangladesh’s review by the Committee Against Torture at a city hotel.

The CBCID police has informed the Madras high court that the investigation  is being carried out in the right direction to trace the whereabouts of Mugilan alias Shanmugam an Anti-Strelite activist, whose whereabouts where not known from February 19, 2019.

A two-year-old baby tested positive for the HIV virus last week at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, despite her parents and
twin brother testing negative for the same. The parents allege the child could have got the virus only from blood or a fluid transfusion. They also
say that the child last underwent a blood transfusion at CMCH in July last year, and it could have been the only source for the infection. CMCH
authorities, however, said they have traced the transfused blood back, and have documents to prove that it is HIV-negative.

A parent from Tiruchi on Tuesday alleged that his two-year-old daughter tested positive for HIV after she underwent treatments in at least three
Government hospitals.

இரண்டு வயது குழந்தை, எச்.ஐ.வி., தொற்றால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், கோவை மருத்துவக் கல்லுாரி மருத்துவமனை மீது புகார் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.திருச்சி தம்பதிக்கு, அங்குள்ள அரசு மருத்துவமனையில், 2017 மார்ச், 6ல், இரட்டை குழந்தை பிறந்தது. பெண் குழந்தையை, 'இன்குபேட்டர்'ல் சிகிச்சை அளித்து, 32 நாட்களுக்கு பின் வீட்டுக்கு அனுப்பினர். குழந்தையின் தந்தை, திருப்பூரில் பணிபுரிந்து வரும் நிலையில், 2018, ஜூலை, 11ல், காய்ச்சலால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட குழந்தையை, திருப்பூர் அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்த்தனர்.

The two-member bench of the Supreme Court's verdict that National Green Tribunal (NGT) has no jurisdiction to hear the private copper smelter plant in Thoothukudi against the Tamil Nadu government's order to close down the plant, however, has not given full satisfaction to the anti-Sterlite activists, who feel that they are only halfway through the process of a permanent closure of the plant.
