தூத்துக்குடி துப்பாக்கிச்சூடு சம்பவத்தைப் போல இனியொரு சம்பவம் நடைபெறக் கூடாது என மதுரை உயர்நீதிமன்றக் கிளை தலைமை நீதிபதி தெரிவித்தார்.

தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்தில் எந்தவித ஆயுதமும் இல்லாமல் போராட்டம் நடத்திய பொதுமக்கள் மீது துப்பாக்கிச் சூடு சம்பவம் நடந்துள்ளதாக உயர் நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதிகள் வருத்தம் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். இது போன்ற சம்பவங்கள் இனி நடைபெறக்கூடாது என்றும் நீதிபதிகள் கருத்து தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

தூத்துக்குடியில் போராட்டம் நடத்தியவர்களைச் சுட்டுக் கொன்றது நாகரிகமான சமுதாயமா என்றும், இது போன்ற சம்பவங்கள் நடைபெறுவது ஏற்புடையதா என்றும் சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றம் மதுரை கிளை கேள்வி எழுப்பியுள்ளது.

Madurai/Chennai,Jun 25 (PTI) The Madras High Court on Friday made some strong remarks over the May 2018 police firing in Tuticorin, where 13 persons were killed during a violent anti-Sterlite agitation, asking "can we kill people and throw money at them and say our job is over. Is that the society that we want to build."

These were among the questions raised by Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee, now sitting at the Madurai bench, when the PIL petition from Henri Tiphagne, an activist, on the matter, came up for hearing today.

The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court issued notice to the State Government and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today in a plea for disclosure of NHRC's "undisclosed" 2018 investigation report into police firing following the Sterlite Protests (May 28, 2018) in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Henri Tiphagne, Executive Director of People's Watch, appearing party-in-person, has challenged the closure order of NHRC dated 25.10.2018, seeking directions to reopen the case in NHRC in the matter of killing of unarmed protestors.

தூத்துக்குடி ஸ்டெர்லைட் ஆலையை நிரந்தரமாக மூடக்கோரி கடந்த 2018-ம் ஆண்டு பொதுமக்கள் போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். போராட்டத்தின் 100-வது நாள் பொதுமக்கள் மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் அலுவலகம் நோக்கி பேரணியாகச் சென்றனர். அப்போது , போலீசார் நடத்திய துப்பாக்கிச்சூட்டில் 13 பேர் உயிரிழந்தனர் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

மதுரையில் விசாரணைக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்ட இளைஞர் மரணமடைந்த வழக்கின் விசாரணை சிபிசிஐடிக்கு மாற்றப்பட்டிருப்பதாக உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் அரசு சார்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

மதுரை சோலையழகுபுரத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர் முத்துக்கருப்பன் மகன் பாலமுருகன். இவரை கடத்தல் வழக்கு விசாரணைக்காக அவனியாபுரம் போலீஸார் கடந்த 2019-ல் காவல் நிலையத்துக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றனர். பின்னர் பாலமுருகன் மர்மமான முறையில் இறந்தார்.
