கந்து வட்டி கொடுமையால், தென்காசி அருகே உள்ள காசிதர்மத்தை சேர்ந்த இசக்கிமுத்து தனது குடும்பத்துடன் கடந்த அக்டோபர் மாதம் 23-ந்தேதி நெல்லை கலெக்டர் அலுவலகத்தில் தீக்குளித்து தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டார். இந்த சம்பவம் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது. நாளுக்கு நாள் கந்து வட்டி புகார்கள் அதிகமாக வந்து கொண்டு இருக்கின்றன.
